DAVID CANTOR

Meet the Author

International Lawyer. Tech Founder. Global Citizen. His creative work has appeared across multiple mediums, including a re-released memoir, The Two Apostles (2014), funding from the Coppola family for an award winning short-film, Doors Open (2008), and prized winner of a caption-contest hosted by Sports Illustrated for Kids (1994) portraying Santa Claus surfing on a wave: ‘This sure beats going down chimneys,’ wrote a 10-year old Cantor.

Native New Yorker, born in 1984, David has experienced a diversity of life in 35+ countries– from working at corporate high-rises in Beijing as an international lawyer, to visiting fishing villages at the tip of Tierra del Fuego. He lived with a nomadic family deep in the Tibetan grasslands, and claims to be the only Jew to marry a Wenzhounese woman that is actually Italian.

David currently resides in Italy with his wife and two young daughters. I Am Q is his debut fiction.

“I was born into the Bridge Generation. An 80’s baby that knew life before we were caught in the world wide web. This work is sourced from a generation of experiences within the tide of technological progress and the context of these reflections spans nearly two decades. It seeks to make sense of how we arrived at where we are today and encourage readers to reflect on the meaning of progress.

For progress is like the tide, it is relentless. Reflection is like swimming, it is survival. If we fail to learn how to reflect, we will surely drown in progress.”
